Dear students, old boys, parents and friends of DBS,
Excellence in music and sports have been part of the proud heritage of
DBS. These activities form an integral part of an all-round education of
DBS boys. We are delighted to inform you of DBS's outstanding
achievements during this academic year - being awarded the 'Director of
Education Trophy' for the most Outstanding School of the year at the
Music Festival and capturing the overall championship at the
Inter-school Athletics, Swimming, Basket ball, Badminton, Table Tennis
and Cross Country Championships.
To celebrate the marvelous achievements of our boys, '.... An undefiled
heritage - Home Coming Concert 2001' will be held on the 13th and 14th
July, 2001, at the DBS School Hall, starting at 7.30 pm. There will also
be a pre-concert cocktail reception / light snack at 6.30 pm - for an
informal gathering of old boys, parents, friends and teachers of DBS.
It is important to up-grade some of the school facilities in order to
enhance our good heritage. Parents and DSOBA have committed donations
for the extension of the school library and renovation of the music
practice room and day-boy dinning room respectively. Additional funding
is now required to purchase computers and music equipment for these new
projects.
The Diocesan School Old Boys' Association (DSOBA) and Diocesan Boys'
School Parent Teacher Association (DBSPTA) will jointly organised this
fund raising concert for the school. It is also our aim to cultivate
friendship amongst old boys, parents, friends and teachers of DBS. With
the strong support from all of you, the concert may well form part of
the DBS traditions in time to come.
We sincerely hope you will be able to attend the concert and join us in
appreciating the talent and excellent efforts by our students and
teachers. We also appeal to you in subscribing to the souvenir programme
and making a donation for the up-grading projects.
Yours truly,
Terence Chang
