DSOBA in conjunction with DBS offered a summer school programme which
lasted for twelve days from 16 July to 31 July 2002 with the objective
of introducing incoming Form One boys to a taste of secondary school
environment.
The program was conducted in English (except in the Chinese classes) by
the DBS faculty and School Prefects. The morning sessions consisted of
English, Chinese and Mathematics with emphasis on developing skills in
aural/oral practices and logic.
Apart from previous years, the program also included lunches and
excursions in addition to regular afternoon sessions. Other activities
included sports, computer graphics, speech, Chinese Orchestra, drama
were designed to enrich the new boys in their new secondary school life.
Students also had the opportunity to stay overnight at the Boarding
School at no extra cost. Besides providing room and board in the
programme, the School Guidance and Counseling team also organized
various activities to highlight the multi-faceted life as a DBS boarder.
