Sept 20, 1998 Craigengower Cricket Club Squash Court
It was a nice bright sunny Sunday morning and yet the players chose to be
indoor sweating themselves out for this year's DSOBA Squash Tournament.
The first round commenced 9:00am sharp at the Craigengower Cricket Club
(CCC), Causeway Bay. For the first round, the players were required to win
two games out of three for each match in order to gain promotion (three
games out of five after the first round).
With Peter Ng (76) (last year's DSOBA Squash Champion) as the first
seed, Dr Chow Pak Chin (70) as second seed, Kenneth Lui (87)
as third, the matches intensified as it progressed. The Champion
Match was played by Peter and Dr Chow. Due to frequent travels and lack of
regular practise, Peter did show signs of weakness to this year's almighty
Chow and after three intensive games, Chow regained his title as this year's
1998 DSOBA Squash Champion.
On another court, Tony (83) and Alex (77) fought
furiously for The Plate. After 5 games of breath taken battles, Alex won
by a narrow margin - three games to two. The 2nd Runner's Up went to
Ramadon Kadir (68).
