There were 18 contestants (10 children and 8 adults) who swallowed the 4
watermelon in less than 4 minutes. Rudy Chan who confessed afterwards that
he did not "eat" any melon was the one who seemingly "consumed" his slice
faster than anyone else. Due to the limited time available, 3 relay teams
of 4 children and 2 adults each were quickly formed and competed in the 6 by
25 meter relay. That was followed by the individual 50 meter open challenge
for children. All the children in the 3 relay teams and the top three
finishers in the open challenge were all awarded a medal. Even though the
wet weather might had dampened the turnout, it could not dampen our spirit.
A jolly good time was shared by all who braved the wet weather that Sunday.
Last but not least, my sincerest thanks to Nigel Cheng (78) who practically
spent all his time there tending the grill to feed the rest of us.
